JADE
Project details
JADE is a 2,000 sq.ft. three-bedroom short-term rental in Visakhapatnam designed to move away from the interchangeable language of typical guest houses. Rather than designing an interior that simply performs hospitality, the intent was to create a home that feels warm, considered and genuinely welcoming. A palette of warm neutrals forms the base, with restrained teal, timber, rattan and fluted glass introducing softness and character without overwhelming the spaces.
The design allows the city and its surrounding hills to become part of the experience. In the family living and dining area, the television was deliberately moved out of focus and the seating reoriented towards the expansive hill views through floor-to-ceiling glazing. A custom timber partition combines a living-room bench, concealed Puja storage and a woven cane-and-glass screen, functioning as furniture rather than a conventional wall. Across the apartment, curved timber details, integrated lighting, built-in niches and carefully controlled colour create a cohesive material language. Each bedroom carries a distinct mood, from the restrained master with its arched headboard to the teal-accented third bedroom with grooved panelling and a built-in study. Designed for high turnover without feeling designed for turnover, JADE delivers hospitality quietly.
