MÉLANGE is a 1,200 sq.ft. apartment renovation in Vizag, created for a repeat client with an established Airbnb portfolio. The brief was simple but demanding: returning guests should experience something distinct from their previous stays. Instead of repeating an existing formula, the design takes a contemporary approach to retro interiors, using colour, proportion and detailing to create a memorable atmosphere while keeping the architecture clean and current.

The renovation focused as much on improving how the apartment works as on how it looks. The foyer was opened into a proper corridor with a stained-glass panel bringing light and surprise into the entrance. Full-height windows transformed the living and dining area, while bold painted ceilings give each room its own identity. The kitchen was opened up to light, an enclosed balcony was restored in the third bedroom, and an underused master balcony was divided into practical laundry and private seating zones. Across the apartment, neutral flooring, coloured inlays, retro-inspired joinery and individual bedroom colour stories create a playful yet considered interior designed to photograph beautifully, withstand guest turnover and remain memorable.
